Warning
Components in the power supply can hold a charge for a long time, make sure to remove power cable long before performing replacement. Take care especially when one has leaked electrolytic acid to wear protective gloves and avoid touching the acid. Wash your hands after handling as it is very damaging if consumed or contacts eye.
Tools Needed:
Phillips screwdriver (for some machines)
Allen Key (found in accessory bag with printer)
Flathead screwdriver (for terminal)
1) Removing the Power Supply
Unplug the printer and wait for residual power to dissipate.
Unscrew the power supply mounting screws.
Carefully disconnect power supply connectors from the mainboard.
Lift the power supply out of the frame.
Note: Take a picture or note of which cables from the outlet go to which terminals on the power supply as the cable colors may vary from example images [Red to V+ and Black to V- should be the same]
2) Installing new Power Supply
Note: Make sure the power supply has the switch set to the correct mains power voltage of your local region. Powering on with the incorrect setting will cause failure and potentially a fire.
Secure the new power supply into its position with screws.
Connect the cables to the new power supply.
Reassemble the printer and test functionality.
Following these steps should ensure a smooth power supply replacement process. If issues arise, consult the printer’s manual or manufacturer support.
