Safety Tips and Precautions
Before starting any disassembly or installation, make sure the printer is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Allow several minutes for any residual current to discharge.
Pay close attention to the location and orientation of all wiring, especially the positive and negative terminals. Take photos or make notes of the wiring layout before disconnecting anything to ensure correct reassembly.
Note: If the old power supply is leaking electrolytic acid, take precautions with PPE and wash hands afterwords as it is harmful especially to ingest.
Replacement Steps
1. Power Down and Prepare
Unplug the printer from the power source and wait a few minutes to ensure the machine is fully powered down. This is critical to avoid electric shock or damage to the electronics.
2. Remove the Base Cover
Use the H2.5 hexagonal wrench to remove the screws securing the base cover of the printer. Set the screws aside carefully, as you will need them for reassembly later. Gently lift off the cover to access the internal components.
3. Locate the Power Supply
Inside the base, locate the power supply unit. It is a rectangular metal box with wiring connections on one side.
4. Disconnect the Wiring
Using the phillips screwdriver, carefully loosen the terminal screws securing the AC input, ground wire, and 24V output wires. Once loose, disconnect all wiring from the power supply. Make sure screws don't fall out into the rest of the printer.
Note: Before disconnecting anything, document the wiring layout. If there is a difference between the provided picture and the power supply currently in your machine seek further assistance from After-Sales Service Support. If there is a different number of Red cables going into + this should not be a concern.
6. Remove the Old Power Supply
Locate the 4pcs mounting screws on the outside of the chassis holding the power supply in place. Remove them and carefully lift the old power supply out of the printer.
If it was leaking electrolytic acid take care to use some kind of tool to safely remove the power supply without skin contact.
7. Install the New Power Supply
Position the new power supply module in place of the old one. Secure it with the mounting screws you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect the Wiring
Reconnect all wires to the new power supply. Make sure that each wire is connected to the correct terminal, paying close attention to positive and negative connections. Tighten the terminal screws securely.
9. Test the Installation
Before closing the printer, plug it back in and power it on. Check that the new power supply operates correctly and that the fan runs quietly. Verify that the printer powers on normally without errors or restarts.
10. Reassemble the Base Cover
Once the test is successful, power off and unplug the printer again. Reinstall the base cover and secure it with the screws you set aside earlier.
If you are unsure about any step or the power supply continues to malfunction after replacement, contact the after-sales support team of the retailer the machine was purchased from for further assistance.
